Geologic Time Chart - Our 11" x 17" chart is a typical example of the Geologic Time Chart that shows the Eras, Periods and Epochs of Time. Time is indicated in Millions of Years Ago (MYA).

The estimation of Time is not necessarily exact. For example, the Paleozoic Era did not begin precisely 544 MYA. The actual event when the Precambrian Eon became the Paleozoic Era may have been either thousands of years earlier or later. As the time chart comes closer to the present, the estimation of the passage of Time becomes more exact because there is more geologic evidence like fossils. The intervals and units of Time may change as geologists find more geologic evidence that delineate the respective units.
