Small Thunder Eggs - (Upper left in photo above ) The surface of these 2.5 to 3.0 inch diameter "redskin" geodes from Mexico is a reddish brown color due to a relatively high iron content. They contain chalcedony and small quartz crystals. The chalcedony fluoresces green under ultrviolet light. $16.00

Geode, Quartz -(Lower left in photo above) These are the same "yellowskin" geodes from Mexico as above but only about 1 - 1.5 inches in diamter. Use a hammer to crack them open and discover the crystals that have formed inside. $ 1.50

CAUTION: ALWAYS PROTECT YOUR EYES. Geodes can be broken by striking them with a hammer or similar heavy object. When breaking a geode, wrap it in a towel or place it in an old sock before striking it. Calcite geodes are much softer than quartz geodes and should be struck more lightly to avoid shattering.
